WHY FOR WOMEN?
Female Bodies are Unique!
As women, we face a different set of challenges than men when it comes to postural alignment, natural areas of body strength/weakness, and even center of gravity. These differences often present as a constellation of areas of stress, tension and discomfort. For years I worked in an office and suffered from terrible back, neck, and shoulder pain from sitting in front of a computer all day. This was exacerbated by undiagnosed scoliosis and various gym-induced injuries. So for you, office warrior, I have felt your pain! Part of what lead me to become an Licensed Massage Therapist were the great results I had as a client. I can work with you to help bring you relief and give you tools to prevent further pain.
WHAT ABOUT THE MAMA?
After I completed my studies at the Swedish Institute, I got my certification in Prenatal and Postpartum Massage Therapy and Infant Massage. I had the great pleasure of studying extensively with Susanrachel Condon of Niara Healing Arts. Her programs emphasized the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, the use of bodywork as an adjunct to prenatal care, and using massage as a means of developing deeper kinesthetic awareness in preparation for labor, birth, and postpartum recovery.
This advanced study means I can work with women through each stage of motherhood to help them focus on their wellbeing so they can be the super mamas they were always meant to be!

PRENATAL OR POSTNATAL MASSAGE
Made for Mamas
This full body massage is given on a table prepared especially for mothers. A relaxing massage that helps you to remain comfortable throughout your pregnancy and well into motherhood, I work with you to relieve muscle spasms and cramps, and reduce stress in weight bearing joints and muscles, helping to enhance breathing capacity and bringing you into your body to help you feel more grounded and closer to your baby. This body work is safe and effective for mothers throughout their pregnancy and can be received while trying to conceive, into and through the 1st trimester through the 3rd, and even into labor.
SHIATSU
A Zen Approach
Shiatsu utilizes a combination of pressure and assisted-stretching techniques that stimulate the circulation and flow of lymphatic fluid, release toxins and deep seated tensions from the muscles, stimulate the hormonal system and the immune system. Shiatsu also acts on the autonomic nervous system, allowing you to relax deeply and get in touch with your own healing power. You are fully clothed for these sessions, so please dress appropriately in loose, comfortable clothing (like yoga pants and a comfortable shirt) that allow for full range of motion for your joints.
SPORTS MASSAGE
For the Road (or Spin...or Barre...) Warrior
For pre-event appointments, you will receive an invigorating massage. Up-tempo work, used to warm the joints and muscles, will relax your mind and prepare your body for the work ahead.
As a post-event massage, expect a slower tempo, fatigue relieving massage. Using long, sweeping strokes and gentle stretches, this massage will soothe tight, sore muscles and joints. Great after a day of physical stress and strain.
WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY
ABOUT ME
Rebekkah Lee, LMT
I am a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) practicing in the Financial District of New York City. I have over 15 years of experience.
I received my Associates Degree from the prestigious Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in Massage Therapy with a focus on Advanced Eastern Studies (Shiatsu). I received my certification in Prenatal, Postpartum and Infant Massage from Niara Healing Arts. My continuing education includes (but is not limited to): Natural Facelift Massage with Yuri Esperson, Advanced Muscular Therapy - Deep Tissue and Myofascial Work for the Shoulder and Knee with Dr. Ben Benjamin, PhD, LMT, Jade Stone Facial Massage (Gua Sha) with Ping Zhang, PhD, LMT, LAc, Advanced Myofascial Techniques - Head, Neck and Jaw with Til Luchau and Advanced Trainings, and Active Assisted Stretching for Injury Rehabilitation with The Benjamin Institute.
Before opening my private practice, I was a massage therapist at Shibui Spa at the Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa for seven years - one of the top rated spas for therapeutic massage in NYC.
In my private practice I customize each session to address the specific needs of my clients. Would myofascial work be more beneficial than deep tissue? Could a client have a more dynamic session if I utilized cupping or gua sha? My clients and I work together to tailor their sessions so that I can help them achieve their wellness goals.
In each visit I target specific areas of tension and imbalance, and after the treatment, can provide feedback and suggestions for self care to help my clients leave their sessions with a renewed feeling of health, rejuvenation, and relaxation as well as tools of empowerment to care for their well being.
